Orchid Observers Talk
2 labels and 2 specimens--do we use the earlier date? The second date doesn't look like just an acquisition/date.
It isn't clear from the label (or the attached letter) what the species is for this particular specimen.
no species indicated
location on label too small to make out--no VC noticed on sheet.
Location Arran?
Does the small handwritten label refer only to the small envelope above it?
VC listed as "HIST"? Does that mean H1? By writing clearly a very early specimen. Species name an amalgam of several.
label says Burstow but VC is only a dash; should probably be East Sussex 14
Can't make out year; also, which vc for Suffolk is unclear
one barcode, multiple specimens, multiple names on label
One bar code, multiple specimens of "Orchis pardalina" all from Combe Martin but with different collection dates
actual flowering specimen is labeled O. purpurella, but main label states O, latifolia
VC for Jersey is 113 I thought, but this lists it as OJ or 0J?
Is the month here "mo. 3" for month 3?
This sheet contains one barcode but 3 specimens and two labels bearing different names/data
hard to read year
In checking the spelling I found this note in the Journal Nature-see link http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v106/n2655/abs/106079a0.html
Hard to tell to which specimen this label is referring.
