orchid name

How do I make a correction to a orchid name? With this one, there was no such option.

@sistercja- Several of us are wondering the same. My personal wild guess is that many species names have changed over the years, and the scientists in the project know the former and current names.

I'm sure someone will let us know.

Historical herbarium sheet labels often record a former name or names for a specimen which differ from the currently accepted name. If a species name appears in the species text box this is the currently accepted name (which may not be the same as the name written on the specimen label) and you will not be able to edit it. If there is no species name in the text box, we would like you to transcribe the name exactly as it appears on the label. There is more information in the [?] help button on the TRANSCRIBE page. Good luck!
